Website Design for a Government Environmental Initiative

Government platforms carry a particular design problem: the content is dense, the audience is everyone, and the stakes for clarity are high. This project asked us to take a large-scale environmental initiative and make it feel approachable — without stripping away its authority.

The result is a platform that informs without overwhelming. We built the information architecture around three priorities: clear content hierarchy so users find policies and research without digging, animated transitions that orient rather than entertain, and an accessibility-first interface that works across the full range of the public audience.

The visual direction draws from the subject matter itself — ocean depths, forest textures, coastlines. Not as decoration, but as context. The imagery reminds users what the platform is actually about before they read a word.

Typography and grid do the structural heavy lifting. The layout stays open and uncluttered, which matters when the content is inherently complex. Motion is used sparingly — each micro-interaction has a navigational job, not an aesthetic one.

The platform launched as a calm, confident digital presence for an initiative that needed both credibility and reach.
