UX/UI Design for a Smoking Cessation App

Quitting smoking fails most often not because of willpower, but because the tools available make the process feel clinical, punishing, or invisible. BudBreak was designed around a different premise: make progress something users can actually see and feel invested in — day by day.
The core mechanic is a living tree that grows as the user stays smoke-free. It's a simple idea with real behavioral logic behind it — visible progress creates accountability, and something worth protecting creates motivation to continue. The tree becomes personal quickly, which makes breaking the streak feel like a genuine loss rather than an abstract setback.

The product opens with a personalized assessment: habits, triggers, motivation, and preferred quit method. From there, the app generates a tailored plan — gradual reduction, cold turkey, or replacement therapy — that users can switch at any point without losing their progress data. The quit plan adapts to the user, not the other way around.
Supporting features sit around the core experience without overwhelming it. A smoke log and quit calendar give structure. An SOS button and breathing exercises provide immediate support during high-craving moments. A savings calculator and weed-free stats make the financial and physical benefits concrete and visible.

The Buddies section brings in a community layer — forums, support groups, and success stories — for users who need social accountability alongside the personal tracking tools.
The visual system is clean, approachable, and nature-inspired — consistent with the growth metaphor throughout. Light and dark mode are both fully supported, designed with the same care and hierarchy.
